Councillor McCann Meeting Report (September 19, 2017)

Parry Sound Industrial Park Monthly Board Meeting
On Thursday, September 14th, along with Councillor Keith, I attended the monthly board meeting for the Parry Sound Area Industrial Park.  There is a company with very serious consideration of doing business in the park.  The board is anxious to work with this party.  We believed we were on the road to having broadband Internet services in the park.  However the CRTC has announced new legislation which cuts into the model presented to us.  The stakeholders all need some guarantees of volume and demand and the board was prepared to meet any shortages as an overall investment in the park’s future.  A change in legislation sends our stakeholders, particularly Bell, back to the drawing board.  Financial statements were accepted for August 2017.


Parry Sound Area Digital Showcase to be Released
I'm pleased to announce that production on the Parry Sound Area Digital Showcase in support of Belvedere Heights is completed.  The masters are on their way for duplication and printing.  This is indeed, truly, one-of-kind item for anyone who calls this area their home, or their former home.  It's also ideal for visitors, tourists and anyone who just loves the area.  It's a two disc set, one formatted for computer and the second for TV viewing.  There are 300 images of the area in various formats including multimedia slideshows set to music and sound effects.  It will make for a great gift idea!!
