Belvedere Heights Parry SoundBelvedere Heights Board of Management Monthly Meeting
On Wednesday, November 22nd, I attended the Belvedere Heights Board of Management Monthly Meeting.   Strategic planning is on our radar with special meetings this month.  Belvedere is receiving $15,750 for the 2017-18 fiscal for a Recreational Therapist.   We want to remind people that we have a new general e-mail address.  Please update your address and contact files with This email address is being protected from spambots. A big thank you goes out from Valerie Stanley, Lead of the Senior SafeKeeping Program at Belvedere, and from staff and volunteers thanking everyone who has contributed to the Adopt a Senior Program.  I believe this is the 6th year this program has been in place.  Seniors who benefit from this wonderful program include some who live at Belvedere but even more so, seniors who live in the area but who may be alone or may not have the means, or the mobility to get out.  They benefit from such a great outreach program.  Val and her gang are truly making a difference!   Once again, thank you for your contributions!

Parry Sound Area Industrial Park Board Monthly Meeting
On Thursday, November 23rd, I attended the Parry Sound Area Industrial Park Board Meeting along with Councillor Keith.   A very, very short meeting in which we accepted financial statements from the month of October.  Still, ever evasive, is the reality of hi-speed Internet service. We continue to expect news of the availability of fibre optic service.

Parry Sound Municipal Coat of Arms Initial Committee Meeting
On Monday,  November 27th, with Mayor McGarvey and Ann Hurdman, I attended the initial meeting of the Parry Sound Municipal Coat of Arms Initial Committee Meeting.  There was discussion on recruiting additional members of this adhoc committee and we reviewed some of the requirements in establishing our own Coat of Arms and respective attributes.

Park to Park Trail AssociationPark to Park Trail Association
In my report at Council on November 7th, I was remiss in not passing along a well deserved note of thanks and congratulations.  On behalf of the board and volunteers of the Park to Park Trail Association, we want to thank Jack Tynan for his years of service.  As of November 2nd he has resigned as President of the association.  He has been a great leader and advocate.  I understand he will continue to have some involvement, but he will be missed at the board level.
