Councillor McCann Meeting Report (May 16, 2017)
Park to Park Trail Association Quarterly Meeting
On Thursday, May 4th, I attended the Quarterly Park to Park Trail Association meeting, this time hosted in Sprucedale. It was a long meeting with a number of items on the agenda. The Association is searching for a new office location, we discussed the Trail Ambassador Program, historical signage and reviewed financial statements. One significant item I would like to remind people about is the "2017 ATV Do It For Dads Rally" in support of Prostate Cancer Research. Visit the Park to Park Trail Association web site for details! http://www.parktoparktrail.org/rideofhope/.
West Parry Sound Refugee Program Committee Meeting
On Saturday morning, May 13th, I attended a meeting of the West Parry Sound Refugee Program Committee Meeting. The members of the committee have been busy over the months working with our two families getting settled in their Parry Sound homes. Our work is not done although fund raising is low key at this point while the committee continues to work with the families. Our budget requires a final $3,000 to be raised. Should any member of the public wish to contribute, please contact the committee or myself. Contributions are tax deductible.
