Councillor McCann Meeting Report (March 7, 2017)
Belvedere Heights Monthly Board Meeting
On February 22nd with Councillor Borneman, I attended the Belvedere Heights monthly board meeting. It was a longer meeting this time around reviewing a number of issues as we move forward with our new CEO. She is fitting in very well. We are close to acquiring a new Chair to replace Dr. John Cochrane who resigned a few months ago. We now are in the process of interviewing 4 candidates, with the possibility of 1 or 2 more. This is quite a process with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care making the final decision.
Park to Park Trail Association Quarterly Meeting
I attended the quarterly Park to Park Trail Association Meeting on Thursday Evening of March 2nd. Some housekeeping issues were discussed. Once again in June watch
for the ATV Rally in support of prostate research. The Association would also like to explore ways of promoting business in Parry Sound to trail users. This would be in hopes that with business offering special deals, ATV'ers would know that they are welcome in Parry Sound and reminded that they are permitted to drive on our streets. The Association would also believe there would be mutual benefit for all concerned, the DBA, the town at large and our visiting ATV'ers, who would help to support our tourism industry!
Condolences to the Ross Family
I would like to take this time and opportunity to extend sincere condolences to the Ross family on the passing of David Ross on March 3rd. Of course David would be well known as co-founder of Ross Windows and Doors, but also for the contributions David, Jane and family have made to the community. He will indeed be missed by many. The family welcomes donations in David's name to the Shriners Hospital for Children. Visit http://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org would be appreciated by the family.
The "Do It For Dads" Rally this June, in support of prostate research is becoming an annual tradition! Check out the details below!
