Councillor McCann Meeting Report (August 8, 2017)

Belvedere Heights Special Project
Earlier today, August 8th, I attended a special meeting at Belvedere Heights regarding a special project through Conestoga College.  This project is an opportunity for Belvedere and one that will greatly benefit the home.  The project is about a Security Process Redesign.  Members from the college, Belvedere board and staff, and community stake holders were in attendance.  The objective was to gather information on the facility layout, current security conditions and security procedures, identify shortfalls and opportunities with the current systems and procedures, provide recommendations and plans for improvements, including estimated budgets and schedules and the provision of a final report to Belvedere Heights in December of this year.

Also, our ad-hoc IT Advisory Committee has formed and we will be meeting later this month to development initial strategy as we identify and examine every aspect of our IT infrastructure.  This will include our web and social media applications.  Our objectives will be to improve what we have and ensure that we are getting the best value for our money and in compliance with the latest safety and security standards.
