Councillor McCann Meeting Report (October 18, 2016)

Lakeland Long Term Care Board Meeting
On Thursday afternoon between 12:00 and 2:00 I attended as a guest, the monthly board meeting of Lakeland Long Term Care Board. It was an honour and a wonderful opportunity to get some insight into the administrative operations.  As board member of the Belvedere Board, it’s great to be able to compare similarities and observe what is somewhat different in management and operations

Parry Sound Area Industrial Park Board Meeting
Later that afternoon, with Councillors Borneman and Keith, I attended the monthly board meeting of the Parry Sound Area Industrial Park Board.
It was a light meeting with a deputation from an individual looking to establish a new business in the area.

Thank You from The West Parry Sound Refugee Program
On behalf of the West Parry Sound Refugee Program, I would like to extend a big thank you to Mayor, Council and Staff for welcoming the first of two refugee families to Parry Sound.  The welcome and presentation of a plaque to the family prior to this evening's Regular Council Meeting is appreciated by the Program's committee and certainly will be a wonderful memory for the family!

Best wishes to Jim King of Moose FM who is leaving the station to pursue a new venture.  I would wish him all the best and thank him for his dedication to covering local news as well as he did, which of course included Council meetings.
