Councillor McCann Meeting Report (July 19, 2016)

Visit by Lieutenant Governor, The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell
On Friday, July 15th, along with Mayor McGarvey, Councillors Borneman and Marshall, it was my privilege to attend the Special Council Meeting with Lieutenant Governor, The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, joining us.  It was indeed an honour and a privilege to meet her Honour.  She is a delightful lady, very down-to-earth, a people-person who engages very easily as she listened to some of the plans for Parry Sound’s future.  She very much enjoys listening to stories and hearing about the history of each town and city she visits.

Festival of the Sound Opening Concert
My wife and I, along with Councillor Marshall, his wife, and Mayor McGarvey and wife attended the Festival of the Sound Opening Concert and enjoyed the Elmer Iseler Singers, Saturday, July 16th.  It was a pleasure to hear opening remarks by Festival of the Sound President, Bonnie Ramsay, our MP, the Honourable Tony Clement and our MPP, Norm Miller.  Mayor McGarvey also welcomed everyone and then it was James Campbell, Artistic Director who introduced a brand new season!
