Councillor McCann Meeting Report (November 1, 2016)

Belvedere Heights Municipal Meeting
On Thursday, October 20th, I attended the Belvedere Heights Municipal Meeting.  This was an opportunity for Staff and Management to provide to its municipal partners, information on services, and on going business at the home.

Belvedere Heights Monthly Board Meeting
Then on Wednesday morning, October 26th, along with Councillor Borneman I attended the Belvedere Heights Monthly Board Meeting, and that was followed by a Belvedere Human Resources Committee Meeting.

West Parry Sound Refugee Program
Saturday, October 29th, I attended the West Parry Sound Refugee Program Meeting to review the settlement of our first family and to review plans on receiving our second family on November 3rd, the day after tomorrow.

West Parry Sound Health Centre Municipal Meeting
And, last night, October 31st, I had the pleasure of attending the West Parry Sound Health Centre Municipal Meeting.  On the agenda, the following matters were discussed:
Bill 41 - Patients First
Primary Care
LHIN - Sub LHIN
Medical Assisted Dying
Financial management (recouping deficits - looking for savings)
Within the LHIN, who we may be partnered with, North Bay, or perhaps, Sudbury, and the logistics of being part of such zones

In closing, a thank you was extended to all of its Municipal Partners.

Lakeland Halloween Party
Finally, Lakeland Long Term Care, in association with the Parry Sound Fire Department, held a very successful Halloween Party last evening.  I am told there were some six hundred children who attended and received plenty of treats from the residents of Lakeland.  Thank you to Lakeland and to the Parry Sound Fire Department!
