Industrial Park Board Monthly Meeting
On Thursday, February 11th, along with Councillors Bornaman and Keith, I attended the monthly board meeting of the Industrial Park   Members of the Smart Community made a presentation regarding the provision of broadband service to the park.  Options, pricing and hardware infrastructure were discussed.

We also accepted the 2015 Year End Financial Statements>

The Site Certification Program has certified the Helen Crawford site, now ready for worldwide promotion.  This is the first site in Northern Ontario to receive certification!


West Parry Sound Refuge Program
I attended the bi-weekly West Parry Sound Refuge Program meeting on Saturday, February 6th, and earlier in the week, a Finance Committee Meeting of the group.  We have been very successful with fund raising and in fact are now ready to apply for a 5-member family.  Originally we had planned on 4.  Items such as household supplies, clothing, etc. continue to be donated.  The people of the area have been most generous and on behalf of the Program Members, thank you sincerely!  Remember you can find the group on line at http://www.welcomerefugeefamily.ca/.  Also you will find the group on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/welcomerefugeefamily/.  I would also like to take this opportunity to recognize the efforts of other local groups in our area working on bringing a refuge family to Parry Sound.  Parry Sound and Area is most generous community!
        
Parry Sound Knights of Columbus Third Annual Wild Game Night
My wife and I attended the Parry Sound Knights of Columbus Third Annual Wild Game Night, on Saturday evening, February 6th.  It was a successful evening and all seats were sold out!  The Parry Sound Knights of Columbus help out a number of organizations in town with financial contributions.  Thank you to the Knights for their on going commitment and support of our community!
