Councillor McCann Meeting Report (July 21, 2015)

On Wednesday, July 15th, I attended the Park to Park Association of Board of Directors Meeting held at the Foley Community Centre.  We were presented with an update on the "Do It for Dads ATV Ride of Hope" in support of Prostate Cancer research.  The event was held on the Friday through to Sunday, June 19th to the 21st.  This year there were nearly 70 entrants, up from about 20 last year.  Profits were split to benefit the cause and the Park-to-Park Association cleared just under $2,500.

The Association was excited to receive a one-time grant of $10,000 from Carling Township in matching federal funds.  Carling shares our association’s vision that progress will be made on the extension of the trail from Killbear Park.  Various funds and donations have been received to improve or enhance other portions of the trail network on the East side.

Also encouraging is the fact that trail pass sales are up slightly from our January draft budget expectations.
